  • Cheap Food and Accommodation

  • Consistent Waves Year-Round

  • Tropical Water – No Wetsuit Needed

Nicaragua offers ideal conditions for surfers of all levels, from mellow beach breaks to powerful barreling waves.

Best Time to Surf Nicaragua

Season Months Surf Conditions
Dry Season November – April Consistent offshore winds, clean surf, smaller to medium swells, perfect for beginners and intermediates.
Rainy Season May – October Bigger, more powerful swells, perfect barrels, occasional onshore afternoons but generally epic mornings.

Good to know: Thanks to Lake Nicaragua, offshore winds blow almost year-round on the southwest coast, making it one of the most reliable surf zones in the world.
