The best time to surf El Transito, Nicaragua is from April to October, which is when waves are more consistent on Central America’s Pacific coast. However, El Transito receives great waves throughout the year which makes it a great surfing destination regardless of the time of the year.

Getting there

El Transito is about an hour and a half drive from Managua and an hour from Leon. You can get a taxi (70-80 USD), shuttle or the public bus (chicken bus) for about $2.
